The Upstate Premier League exists to bring a higher standard of adult soccer to the Upstate—competitive, organized, community-driven, and built with purpose. This league was founded out of a genuine passion for creating a place where men can get out weekly, stay active, compete hard, and build real camaraderie. For many players, this league will become a routine they look forward to all week—a chance to stay healthy, release stress, and connect through the game they love.
One of the core design choices of the Upstate Premier League is mimicking the English Premier League through a longer season format. A true champion deserves to be decided over time—through consistent play, perseverance, strategy, and team chemistry. Short seasons often feel rushed, unpredictable, and unforgiving; miss a couple of games and you’ve practically missed the whole season. Our longer schedule solves that. It gives teams room to grow, improve, and truly compete, while giving players flexibility so that life events don’t cost them an entire season of soccer.
We also focus on creating a professional-level experience at the recreational level:
• Structured 5-hour weekly match windows under the lights
• Certified referees and consistent field setups
• On-site athletic trainer for player safety
• Dedicated league manager to oversee smooth operations
• Security on site to maintain a respectful, safe environment
• Full player stats, standings, leaderboards, and season awards
• Cash prizes and apparel for top teams
